Clean streets and big hearts
Along in 1990, Shelton Kiwanis Club partnered with Washington State Department of Transportation as it launched Adopt-a-Highway. The program keeps the state clean, helps save taxpayers money, and reminds people not to litter.
Four times each year, Kiwanians pick up litter on a 2.5 mile stretch of Highway 101. The club provides volunteers with equipment and gathers for coffee following the project. All volunteers are welcome to participate; the more the merrier – many hands make light work!
